Edward Mace

President & Chief Executive Officer

Ed Mace is a Co-Founder of Silverwest and President/CEO.

Prior to Silverwest, from 2001-2006, Ed was President of Vail Resorts Hotel Company and its subsidiary Rock Resorts, the resort brand owned by Vail Resorts (NYSE: MTN). Ed was responsible for all hotel and hospitality assets owned by Vail Resorts (including significant base area hotels, and golf courses located at the company’s world class resorts.)

Prior to Vail Resorts, Ed was President and CEO of Fairmont Hotels. As President, he worked directly with the investors in the renovation, repositioning and management of all hotels within the company. After overseeing $300 million in renovation to some of the company’s most famous hotels including The Plaza in New York and the Fairmont in San Francisco, he led the merger with Canadian Pacific Hotels (CP) to form the then largest luxury hotel company in North America. Previously, Ed was a partner at KPMG in the management consulting group.

Charles Peck

President & Chief Operating Officer

Charlie Peck is a Co-Founder of Silverwest and President/COO.

Prior to Silverwest, from 1997-2012, Charlie was President and COO for Destination Hotels & Resorts, the Denver based subsidiary of Lowe Enterprises. Destination acquired and managed hospitality properties for the investment management arm of Lowe Enterprises and other institutional investors and was the fourth largest US independent hotel operator in 2012 with 45 hotels and resorts.

Prior to Destination, Charlie was Director, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cushman Realty Corporation, a diversified national real estate company based in Los Angeles. He was also President of Cushman Investment and Development Corporation. Previously, as CFO of Disney Imagineering, he assisted in the planning of large-scale resort development activities for the Walt Disney company.

Jared Flagg

Managing Director, Asset Management

Jared Flagg joined Silverwest in 2014 and currently is the Managing Director, Asset Management. Jared’s role encompasses all aspects of hotel investment management including financial and operating performance, strategic and capital planning, risk management, valuations, lender relationships, and investor communications. He specializes in financial underwriting, debt/equity capital raising, financial reporting, project development, strategic planning, and performance analytics.

Prior to his role at Silverwest, Jared's positions spanned hotel, resort, and residential community development, financing, and investment management including Terranea Resort, Resort at Squaw Creek in California, Suncadia Resort in Washington, Wild Dunes in South Carolina, and Waikoloa Beach Marriott in Hawaii.

Jared serves as an advisor for Marriott’s Element brand, is a member of the Hotel Asset Managers Association, and has formed strong partnerships with the hospitality industry’s leading vendors and service providers.

Patrick Mace

Managing Director, Acquisition & Development

Patrick Mace joined Silverwest in 2014 and currently is the Managing Director, Acquisition & Development. Patrick is responsible for the company’s deal sourcing, underwriting, transactions, negotiations, and project development.

Prior to his role at Silverwest, Patrick was a principal of Sabbia Advisors. Working in an advisory capacity, his consulting engagements included transaction due diligence, development feasibility, asset management and operational planning of an international mixed-use resort.

Prior to Sabbia Advisors, Patrick was a Vice President with the Lehman Estate. Managing the recovery value of 20+ investment positions including 5,000+ hotel keys within the commercial real estate platform, his responsibilities included workouts, restructurings, foreclosures/deed-in-lieu and dispositions of full-service urban hotels and luxury resorts, a boutique lifestyle portfolio and various branded focused service assets. Patrick began his tenure at the Lehman Estate as a consultant with Alvarez & Marsalin 2010 as a member of the Hospitality and Leisure Advisory Services Group.

David Thorpe

Managing Director, Design & Construction

David Thorpe joined Silverwest in 2016 and currently is the Managing Director, Design & Construction. Dave is responsible for overseeing Silverwest’s new developments and renovation projects at the company’s various hotel properties. 

Prior to his role at Silverwest, Dave served as Vice President of Shaw Construction in Denver. His career also includes positions such as Development Executive overseeing a large urban mixed-use project in Denver, and Vice President of Development for Vail Resorts Development Company. At Vail Resorts, Dave oversaw the redevelopment of Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club and worked on the development of The Arrabelle at Vail Square, a 500,000-square-foot mixed-use development and luxury hotel. He also provided technical construction support services to RockResorts for renovations and hotel capital expenditure projects. Dave is actively engaged in the real estate industry.  He’s a full member of the Urban Land Institute and is the current Chair of ULI North America’s Redevelopment and Reuse Product Council.

Paul Mountain

Vice President, Acquisition & Development

Paul Mountain joined Silverwest in 2015. In his role as Vice President Acquisition & Development, Paul pursues strategic growth opportunities for Silverwest’s hotel investment portfolio.  His responsibilities include deal sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, deal capitalization, and transaction execution.  Paul is also heavily involved in Silverwest’s investment and portfolio management including refinancing, recapitalization, and dispositions.

Prior to his role at Silverwest, Paul began his resort and hospitality career at Copper Mountain Resort as a Financial Analyst.  During that time, he was responsible for financial analysis and reporting across Copper’s lodging and mountain operations divisions with a focus on improving performance and evaluating growth opportunities.  He was involved in the budgeting, forecasting, and cash management for hundreds of capital projects including multiple terrain/chairlift expansions such as Tucker Mountain and the Woodward Express.

Sarah Modjeski

Vice President, Revenue Strategy

Sarah Modjeski joined Silverwest in 2019 and currently serves as the Vice President of Revenue Strategy. She oversees the revenue optimization, sales, and marketing initiatives for Silverwest’s portfolio of hotels.

Prior to her role at Silverwest, Sarah served for over 10 years at the property level in positions such as Area Director of Revenue Management, Dual Director of Sales and Marketing, and Corporate Business Travel Manager. Sarah is an AHLEI Certified Hotel Revenue Manager with sales, revenue, and marketing experience across multiple brands including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and several independent luxury brands.

Heather Simms

Development Cost Manager

Heather Simms joined Silverwest in September of 2022. In her role as Development Cost Manager, she oversees budgets and forecasts, as well as monitors the distribution of capital, for all new developments and large capital expenditure projects. 

Prior to her role at Silverwest, Heather received her Masters in Real Estate, from CU Boulder’s Leeds School of Business and brings over two decades of financial analysis experience to the team. She was the Director of Finance for a home-healthcare firm, an independent analyst of short-term rental and multifamily investment properties, and a financial analyst for a 100+ store natural grocer.

Lucy Sapron

Office Manager

Lucy Sapron joined Silverwest in April of 2015 and serves as Office Manager for the company and its affiliates. Her role encompasses administrative and organizational support, client and vendor communication, and brand and lender documentation and compliance.

Prior to her role at Silverwest, Lucy’s experience includes 15 years of various positions in the banking industry with the last 11 years serving as Assistant Vice President of Commercial/Construction Loan Administration. As a Commercial Loan Administrator, Lucy had the opportunity to learn many aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions.

Corey Peck

Data Engineer

Corey Peck joined Silverwest in 2021 as a Data Engineer. In his role, Corey utilizes data procurement, infrastructure management, and report tooling to ensure the Silverwest teams maintain a quantitative edge in hotel real estate investments.

Prior to his role at Silverwest, Corey served as an Intern for Silverwest Hotels for nearly 3 years while pursuing his undergraduate degree. As an intern, Corey worked closely with Asset Management to automate business processes and make swifter business decisions. Some key projects Corey worked on during this time include a comprehensive revenue optimization model, enhanced portfolio forecasting and performance analytics, and Acquisition/Development Modeling.

Cora Storms

Controller

Cora Storms joined Silverwest in 2014 and is currently the Controller. She manages the accounting and financial reporting for Silverwest’s investment portfolio. In association with Platform Ventures, Cora has served in roles with affiliates performing the accounting for various real estate investment entities, loan pools, and mixed-use projects since 2012.

Prior to her role with Platform Ventures, Cora was a Senior Associate at PwC working on audit teams for multiple financial services clients including mutual funds and hedge funds.

Hillary Ross

Senior Accountant

Hillary Ross joined Silverwest in 2015 as a Senior Accountant. Hillary works directly with the Silverwest owned and managed, focused service hotels. As well as being a member of the Silverwest team, Hillary is part of Platform Ventures. In her capacity at Platform, Hillary is involved in the accounting for various real estate investment entities.

Prior to her role with Silverwest, Hillary worked for a CPA firm providing the tax return and accounting services for small businesses.
